Project Financial Modeling Analyst
Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Financial Modeling Analyst to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role will be responsible for the financial analysis and modeling of new and existing renewable energy projects. You will be a key player in the project development lifecycle, from initial assessment to financial closing, helping to shape our investment decisions and accelerate our company's growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Modeling: Develop, maintain, and run complex financial models (DCF, IRR, NPV) for a variety of distributed energy projects, including solar, battery storage, and other renewable technologies.
- Analysis & Due Diligence: Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, including sensitivity testing and risk assessments, to evaluate project feasibility and investment returns.
- Project Finance: Support the project finance process, including structuring and negotiating debt, tax equity, and other financing arrangements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Development, Origination, Engineering, Legal, and senior leadership, to ensure accurate financial assumptions and a cohesive project strategy.
- Market Research: Stay current with market trends, regulatory changes, and incentive programs (e.g., ITC, PTC, SREC) to inform financial models and strategic decision-making.
- Reporting: Prepare clear and compelling presentations, reports, and investment memos for senior management, investors, and other external stakeholders.
- Mentorship (for Manager level): Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts, promoting best practices in financial modeling and analysis.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related quantitative field. An MBA or CFA is a plus.
- 3+ years of experience in financial modeling, project finance, or a related field within the renewable energy sector.
- Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and building robust, scalable financial models.
- Strong understanding of project finance principles, valuation methodologies, and renewable energy markets.
- Familiarity with distributed generation technologies and their unique financial drivers.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to distill complex financial concepts into clear insights.
- A proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative mindset.
