What you will do
- Lead the Laboratory Solutions team in Leuna, with line-management responsibility for lab technicians and apprentices
- Ensure safe and reliable laboratory operations in compliance with HSE, quality and documentation requirements
- Organize team tasks, clarify responsibilities and ensure efficient workflows
- Manage all activities needed to keep laboratories operational including maintenance
- Organize and plan the allocation of laboratory technicians to projects
- Own performance discussions and development follow-up for the team and support the development of technicians and apprentices through structured training and regular feedback
- Work closely with researchers, operations and technology teams to enable high-quality research results
- You have a Master’s degree (e.g. in chemistry, chemical engineering, biotechnology, process technology) and at least 5 years of leadership experience, or a strong hands-on laboratory leadership background with at least 10 years of leadership experience
- You have experience leading an R&D laboratory and are familiar with working with lab technicians in a laboratory environment
- You understand safe and compliant laboratory work, including HSE, quality and documentation requirements
- You are comfortable coordinating daily laboratory operations and handling multiple operational topics in parallel
- You are a structured and dependable leader with a supportive and approachable style
- You work well with different stakeholders and collaborate effectively across teams
- You communicate fluently in German and English
