I'm looking for an enthusiastic and talented student with a passion for energy markets, data analysis and development. In this role, you will get to update and communicate short-term power price forecasts and develop Hedging and Market Analysis teams processes and tools. We offer flexibility with start and end dates. What You Will Do
- Update and communicate daily short-term price forecasts using fundamental power market simulation and optimization software (Plexos)
- Share market observations to support decision-making in UPM Energy’s asset optimization, hedging, and trading activities
- Develop processes, tools, and reporting for the Hedging and Market Analysis teams
- You are a university student in engineering, mathematics, physics, or economics
- You have a basic understanding of—or are eager to learn about—energy markets
- You are curious, proactive, and forward-looking in your approach
- You have strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills
- You have basic skills in data management (Python)
- You have experience with fundamental simulation software (Plexos); experience with visualization platforms (Power BI) is an asset
- You have an analytical mindset with the ability to see the big picture and create innovative solutions
