We are now looking for a Graduate, Energy Market Analyst to join our Market Analysis team in UPM Energy. Home location of the position will be in Helsinki, Finland.

What You Will Do

  • Participate in the graduate program, which includes 3–4 rotations (one abroad), gaining insight into UPM processes and building a strong company network across at least two different businesses
  • Update and communicate price forecasts
  • Maintain and develop electricity market models and related processes
  • Prepare and present electricity market analyses, providing valuable input for decision-making in production and consumption optimization, hedging, and trading activities

Who You Are

  • You have a university degree in engineering, math, physics or economics
  • You have some experience from a relevant field, for example from electricity markets, energy commodity markets, data analysis, mathematical modelling or optimisation
  • You have experience in data analysis (Python, SQL), fundamental simulation software (Plexos), and visualization platforms (Power BI). This experience is considered an asset but not a hard requirement

  • You are fluent in written and spoken German and English, Finnish is considered an asset
