Universal Robina Corporation is looking for a Global Sustainability Officer.
What Are There Job Responsibilities
- Climate Action & GHG Inventory
- Drive the development and execution of the company’s Climate Action strategy.
- Lead the maintenance and continuous refinement of the corporate GHG Inventory covering Scope 1 and 2 emissions.
- Spearhead the baseline measurement of relevant Scope 3 emissions.
- Facilitate bottom-up approach in developing GHG reduction roadmaps.
- Identify & plan for climate-related physical and transition risks.
- Conduct technical and market research to stay up-to-date on emerging climate-related trends, standards, and methodologies.
- Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Compliance
- Spearhead the measurement and validation of the company's plastic footprint
- Support the development and execution of management-approved EPR compliance strategies to meet regulatory diversion targets.
- Lead and support programs anchored on the end-to-end EPR strategies (packaging circularity, collection, societal engagement, diversion)
- Coordinate the preparation and submission of the EPR Compliance Audit Report, engaging with business units and third-party auditors.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to support EPR implementation and explore enhancements to compliance strategies.
- Provide monitoring and compliance support to URCI and other business units under local EPR regulations.
- ESG Management
- Assist in the preparation of sustainability reports (e.g., SEC 17-A, CDP, TCFD), ensuring accuracy, transparency, and alignment with global frameworks.
- Prepare presentations, reports, and data analyses for the Sustainability Steering Committee to support data-driven recommendations and decision-making.
- Track and monitor performance updates on key sustainability metrics and maintain the OneURC Sustainability Scorecard.
- Project Management & Execution
- Lead the planning, delivery, and management of sustainability projects, ensuring timely completion and achievement of key sustainability results.
- Apply both agile and traditional project management methodologies to sustainability projects based on their scope and complexity integrating sustainability principles
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business units to ensure alignment of sustainability projects with business goals, providing regular progress updates and risk assessments.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Capability Building
- Assist in engaging internal departments and external partners to promote collaboration on ESG initiatives and compliance activities.
- Support the delivery of sustainability awareness and capability-building programs across the organization.
- Manage external relations and partnerships to support sustainability programs, including engaging in cross-industry initiatives and sustainability forums
- Sustainability Recognition Program and Ad Hoc Activities
- Support the Manager in the conduct of internal sustainability awards to recognize plants and individuals contributing to achieving the highest level of excellence in Quality, Efficient Resource Management, Safety, Health, and Wellbeing
- Monitor program effectiveness and evolve recognition efforts to drive continued awareness and engagement.
- Provide operational and administrative support to the Sustainability Manager across various projects and initiatives.
- Assist in ad hoc sustainability-related tasks, research, and coordination activities as needed
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in Sustainability or EHS within food manufacturing, food and beverage operations, or agriculture, preferably focused on systems, processes, and operational discipline
- Working knowledge in developing and preparing Sustainability Reports aligned with local and global frameworks and standards (SEC, GRI, SASB, TCFD)
- Familiarity with Extended Producer Responsibility, Circular Economy, GHG Inventory (Scopes 1, 2 & 3), Decarbonization, and Climate-Related Risks and Opportunities
- Strong project and stakeholder management skills; capable of influencing the organization and driving sound conclusions and recommendations through systems and program achievements
- Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation (visualization), and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (O365, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Outlook, SharePoint) and experienced in photo and video editing software (e.g., After Effects, PowerDirector, or equivalent)
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment that involves local travel
