Building Automation Systems (BAS) Controls Technician

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot building automation systems (BAS) and associated devices.
  • Independently manage BAS service calls, demonstrating excellent problem-solving and customer service abilities.
  • Calibrate building automation controls to ensure accuracy and dependability.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining control sequences of operation (SOO) and related documentation.
  • Contribute to the development of BAS control programs.
  • Install, program, and maintain BAS systems.
  • Design and manage graphic user interfaces (GUIs) using frontend software.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance, including system backups and error assessments.
  • Keep up to date with industry trends and best practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a control’s technician or in a comparable role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong computer skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Familiarity with direct digital control (DDC) systems such as Niagara N4, JCI, Trane, Honeywell, or Distech.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in mechanical engineering, HVAC maintenance, or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent field experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a control’s technician or similar role.
  • Certification from an accredited trade school or apprenticeship program.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of building automation systems.
  • Niagara N4 certification.
