BAS Controls Installer - Low Voltage Electrician

BAS Installer:

As a BAS installer at UCS, you will work as a part of a team to accomplish install tasks according to building regulations, customer needs, and system and equipment requirements. Collaboration, dedication, and learning are crucial skills for this position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

•  Install, maintain, and troubleshoot building automation systems (BAS) and associated devices
•  Ability to perform BAS service calls with little or no support
•  Strong customer skills
• Perform calibration of various types of building automation controls
• Assist in developing and maintaining building automation control SOO and documentation
• Assist in the development of building automation control programs
• Install, program, and maintain BAS
• Develop and maintain graphic user interface (GUI) of building automation system using frontend software
• Preform BAS preventive maintenance including regular system backups and evaluations of systems for errors
• Maintain knowledge of current industry trends and practices

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Associate degree in mechanical engineering, HVAC maintenance, or related field experience preferred
• 3-5 years’ experience in a control’s technician or similar role
• Strong computer skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
• Working knowledge of DDC systems such as Niagara N4, JCI, Trane, Honeywell, and/or Distech controls

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent field experience
• 5+ years’ experience in a controls technician or similar role
• Certification from an accredited trade school or apprenticeship program
• Strong understanding of all aspects of building automation systems
• Niagara N4 certification
