Job Summary:
The Manager, Strategic Relations & Fundraising plays a pivotal role in advancing the mission of the UN Global Compact Network Malaysia and Brunei (UNGCMYB) by cultivating high-value partnerships, driving revenue diversification, and securing sustainable funding to support the Network's programmes and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead business engagement efforts to identify, secure, and grow relationships with corporations and organisations across Malaysia and Brunei.
- Own the full business development cycle, from lead generation and pitching to deal closure, onboarding, and ongoing account management.
- Lead the identification and pursuit of funding opportunities, including membership, grants, sponsorships, and institutional partnerships, to sustain and grow the network's programmatic work.
- Develop compelling proposals, pitches, and partnership packages to potential and existing partners.
- Establish, secure, and manage high-value relationships with key stakeholders across the private sector, government, and civil society to ensure sustained support for UNGCMYB's mission.
- Track and report on business development performance, pipeline health, and partnership outcomes to the Leadership Team.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in business development, strategic partnerships, fundraising, or similar roles involving pitching, negotiating, and securing partnerships, sponsorships, or funding from organisations.
- Proven track record in driving revenue growth, securing high-value partnerships, sponsorships, grants, or membership expansion is strongly preferred.
- Experience managing the full business development cycle, including prospecting, pitching, proposal development, deal closure, onboarding, and ongoing account management.
- Strong understanding of corporate sustainability, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and familiarity with the UN Global Compact principles are an advantage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to develop compelling proposals, deliver persuasive pitches, and build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the private sector, government, and civil society.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify opportunities, structure partnerships, and deliver outcomes aligned with organisational objectives and partner priorities.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, complex stakeholder relationships, and revenue pipelines in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft/Google Office Suite and CRM or pipeline management systems.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia is an advantage.
- For non-Malaysian candidates, a valid visa to work in Malaysia is required.
