Job Summary

The Assistant Manager / Manager, Member Relations is responsible for driving both membership growth and engagement. This role combines business development and relationship management, requiring the individual to identify, engage, and convert prospective organisations into members, while ensuring existing members derive meaningful value from their participation.


The role contributes directly to strengthening UNGCMYB’s network and advancing sustainable business practices across Malaysia and Brunei.


Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, prospect, and engage potential member organisations, converting prospects into active members
  • Develop and deliver compelling pitches, presentations, and proposals to promote UNGCMYB membership and initiatives
  • Drive membership growth by securing buy-in from key decision-makers
  • Support outreach efforts through events, partnerships, and networking opportunities
  • Serve as the main point of contact for member organisations, ensuring timely support and communication
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with members across industries
  • Design and implement initiatives to strengthen member engagement and participation
  • Gather and analyse member feedback to improve programmes and engagement strategies
  • Maintain accurate membership records in CRM systems and track key performance metrics
  • Prepare periodic reports and insights to support internal planning and decision-making


Required Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of experience in business development, partnerships, or client engagement, with a strong ability to influence stakeholders
  • Proven track record in achieving growth targets, client acquisition, or membership expansion
  • Understanding of corporate sustainability, ESG practices, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); familiarity with UN Global Compact principles is an advantage
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM systems
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia is an advantage
  • Valid work authorisation in Malaysia (for non-Malaysian candidates)
