Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Solar Performance Engineer to join our Energy Advisory team. Our Solar Energy Senior Analysts ensure a robust QA/QC process and high-quality deliverables, conducting solar resource and energy estimates, with responsibilities for high-quality assessments and responsive client communication. The role can be hybrid from Albany, NY / Northbrook, IL / Houston, TX, or remote in the US. Responsibilities Complete timely and high-quality solar energy analysis work. Perform pre-construction energy analyses, including: Compilation, validation, and analysis of meteorological data for solar resource assessments Evaluation of project constraints and risks Estimation of plant losses and assessment uncertainties Generation of Energy Production Estimates Creation of Energy Production Reports for clients Collaborate effectively with colleagues and other teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products. Communicate complex technical issues effectively with clients. Qualifications University Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or Physics from an accredited program plus 8 years of relevant work experience. Knowledge of solar energy modeling tools like PVLIB and PVsyst. Understanding of technical vocabulary in the discipline. Experience in energy simulation of utility-scale battery energy storage systems. Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, and R (preferred). Familiarity with industry standards such as IEC, UL, IEEE, and SunSpec Alliance (preferred). Experience with solar design software like SAM, HOMER, Helioscope, PVcase, PlantPredict. Industry knowledge of solar energy issues and challenges. Total Rewards The estimated salary range for this position is $105,000 - $135,000, based on experience and location.
