Green Building Specialist (Onsite in Noida, India)
How You'll Make An Impact
As a Green Building Specialist (LEED Technical Group), you’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping advance the goals of Technical Customer Service (TCS) for USGBC & GBCI. In this role, you will provide expert guidance and problem-solving support for complex technical inquiries, ensuring a positive experience for both new and experienced users, and you will drive key initiatives to improve products and processes for our customers in alignment with our mission and strategic goals.
You will report to a Team Lead in the TCS Technical Group and be part of a specialized and collaborative team environment where your contributions will help shape impactful outcomes. You will work closely with other divisions of our organization including Products and Operations and may regularly partner with GBCI review and USGBC Technical Development staff to explain points of confusion for customers and help clarify LEED requirements. You will also coordinate with our India-based staff from other teams to build a strong technical customer support network for them and help our US-based TCS staff identify opportunities for improving customer and staff support across the Eastern Hemisphere.

Location: This position is hybrid in Noida, India and will be required to work onsite about 3 to 4 times a week.
Work Schedule: This is a salary-based position that will involve working at least 40 hours a week. Standard work hours are Monday – Friday 9 AM to 5:30 PM based on candidate’s time zone with some flexibility needed to attend calls with customers & staff in different time zones.
Travel %: 5 % of work time may involve travel for conference support, professional development, or team building meetings or other work-related tasks.

Key Responsibilities
- Answer customer inquiries about LEED and other USGBC & GBCI products.
- Meet case-resolution, turnaround-time, quality, and customer-satisfaction targets.
- Partner with the TCS team and internal stakeholders to resolve customer issues and identify trends.
- Serve as a LEED technical subject matter expert and share customer insights to improve guidance and services.
- Support special projects--including user acceptance testing, content development, policy updates, and staff training--to improve customer service processes.
- Maintain and enhance our team’s library of rating system expertise, standard operating procedures, Help Center content, stock responses, and best practices.
- Represent the voice of the customer in USGBC and GBCI initiatives.
- Candidates who advance in the interview process will be required to complete a written skills assessment; more details will be provided as the time approaches.
Experience
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience working in a client-facing role in a field related to green design and construction, sustainable operations and maintenance, and/or sustainability education.
- Experience with LEED project applications or green building consulting.
- Experience working on cross-functional teams or contributing to process improvement projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study, such as sustainability, architecture, engineering, landscape design, building management, environmental science, environmental education, etc.
- Master’s Degree or commensurate experience in one of these related fields of study is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort learning new technology.
- Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM systems.
- Familiarity with LEED Online and Arc is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information to a global audience.
- Demonstrated customer-first mindset and proven problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, adapt to change, and accept feedback.
- Current USGBC or GBCI credential or professional certificate (e.g., LEED Green Associate or AP), or a commitment to earn one within the first year of Employment.
- English
- Proficiency in Hindi, Spanish, Chinese, Arabic or other languages of the Eastern Hemisphere would be beneficial.
