The Climate and Nature Executive will primarily support the development, implementation and progress monitoring of the business’s climate ambition across the value chain (scope3) to drastically reduce our emissions in line with the Paris Agreement. The role will also support the implementation of a comprehensive environmental programme instrumental to a sustainable and resilient supply chain. This objective will be achieved through technical proficiency, combined with a pragmatic and assertive approach to influence of external and internal stakeholders

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the company's climate ambition and agenda are clearly communicated throughout the business.
  • Support the Climate Nature Manager (CNM) to develop networks with commercial functions and engage in constructive dialogue, to progress the Climate and Nature agenda and drive change in our supply chain.
  • Effective use of specific carbon datasets and other tools, ensuring an appropriate flow of information from the different departments to deliver on our global carbon reduction targets.
  • Work with the CNM and appointed consultants in updating the company’s carbon footprint as and when required to ensure consistent and accurate tracking of progress.
  • Support the day-to-day implementation and monitoring of carbon reduction projects and initiatives in the supply chain.
  • Keep up-to-date with current GHG guidelines and accounting & reporting protocols and best practices.
  • Engage with suppliers to identify risks, trends and opportunities for carbon emissions reduction.
  • Assess environmental risks in TwO supply chain, including biodiversity, deforestation, water, etc.
  • Help prepare specific materials and briefing (PPT, reports) to inform decision makers about environmental risks and opportunities in our supply chain.
  • Reporting on sites’ climate and environmental performances to internal stakeholders (Director of Social Impact, Senior leadership, buyers).
  • Provide support as needed for reporting activities. • Participating, as required, in relevant industry bodies, acting as Twinings Ovaltine representative.
  • Supporting with general administrative tasks such as the raising purchase orders, new supplier set up, stationery, booking travels and organising team meetings


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Degree level in the environment, social or development studies, agriculture or in relevant discipline
  • Previous experience in environmental sustainability or environmental management.
  • Knowledgeable about environmental topics, including biodiversity, GHG emissions, target setting and mitigation/abatement projects.
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to establish and manage effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office suite and Power Bi.
  • Enthusiastic individual, able to work autonomously as well as being a team player.
  • Resourceful and solution-orientated mind-set.
  • Ability to work independently, work under pressure and able to organise own work schedule
