Business Development Associate

We are actively seeking a Part-Time Business Development Associate with strengths across research and list building, written communication, and data analysis. This role supports multiple sales, prospecting, and internal initiatives. You will be hands-on in execution with our Director of Business Development.
Responsibilities
- Research and identify target companies based on sector, size, and revenue/funding stage criteria
- Audit prospects' LinkedIn presence, media coverage, and website performance to assess strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities where a PR/marketing agency can add value
- Develop and refine outreach contact lists using Apollo, Hunter, and LinkedIn
- Draft creative, tailored email outreach campaigns designed to generate meetings with target prospects
- Analyze industry trends and audience-specific marketing pain points to inform outreach strategy
- Proactively monitor news and shifts in target sectors (leadership changes, buzzy product launches, audience/customer research) to inform and create timely outreach opportunities
- Track and report on outreach metrics (open rates, reply rates, positive response rates, meetings booked). Maintain a running log of outreach variations tested and outcomes, building an internal playbook of what resonates with different audience types
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 1–2 years of experience in a sales, marketing, or customer-facing role
- Strong written communication skills and a proven ability to produce clear and compelling outreach content
- Familiarity with CRM and prospecting tools. Apollo and LinkedIn experience preferred.
