Solar Pv Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Senior Solar PV Project Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) and hybrid solar-plus-battery energy storage (BESS) projects across Western Australia.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of utility-scale Solar PV and Solar PV + Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across Western Australia.
• Manage project execution from Notice to Proceed (NTP) through construction, energisation, commissioning and final handover.
• Take ownership of project schedules, budgets, risk registers, resource planning and change control processes.
• Manage EPC contractors, solar module and inverter suppliers, specialist subcontractors and other project stakeholders.
• Oversee contractual obligations, procurement activities, commercial performance and project delivery milestones.
• Coordinate grid connection activities and milestones in line with Western Power requirements and Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) regulations.
• Lead regular site progress meetings and coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning teams.
• Monitor project performance against approved budgets, schedules, quality standards and contractual requirements.
• Identify project risks, manage variations and claims, and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Maintain effective communication and provide regular project updates to clients, investors and senior stakeholders.
• Drive a strong Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) culture across project sites, ensuring compliance with applicable Western Australian safety regulations.
• Oversee testing, commissioning, energisation and performance verification of Solar PV and BESS installations.
• Ensure successful project completion, operational readiness and handover to operations teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of overall project management experience, with at least 5 years of experience in utility-scale solar PV or renewable energy projects.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale EPC or owner's-side renewable energy projects from construction through Commercial Operation Date (COD).
• Strong experience managing utility-scale Solar PV and/or hybrid Solar PV + BESS projects.
• Demonstrated expertise in project planning, budget management, cost control, risk management and schedule delivery.
• Strong commercial and contractual management skills, including contract administration, variations and claims management.
• Experience managing EPC contractors, suppliers, subcontractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Working knowledge of Australian engineering standards, grid connection processes and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Familiarity with Western Power grid connection requirements and AEMO requirements.
• Strong understanding of Australian Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation and site safety requirements.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to manage complex projects while maintaining delivery targets, commercial objectives and safety standards.
• PMP, PRINCE2 or an equivalent recognised project management qualification will be an advantage.
