Role Summary
This position plays a crucial role in managing the procurement of materials and services essential for the successful implementation of BESS and Solar projects, while ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and adherence to project schedules.
Essential Job Function & Responsibilities
- Working with the Preconstruction and Procurement team, develop and implement strategies and plans based on project requirements and company objectives.
- Lead and manage the RFP process.
- Conduct fact-based negotiations to yield best in class results and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, contracts, and delivery schedules.
- Review and manage contracts to ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, including conducting performance reviews and fostering ongoing collaboration.
- Work cross-functionally with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to coordinate procurement activities and ensure alignment with project objectives and timelines.
- Monitor, evaluate and continuously improve procurement processes to identify areas for enhancement and optimization.
- Ensure procurement activities meet company Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and contribute to overall business goals.
- Bachelors Degree/College Certificate in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Relevant professional certification (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) is preferred.
- 5 – 7 years of project procurement experience, preferably in renewable energy or energy storage industry
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic procurement initiatives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable terms, pricing, and contractual agreements with suppliers
- Regular attendance, in accordance with company's attendance policy and supervisory assignment, is an essential job duty requirement for this position.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with senior management and key stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and familiarity with procurement software such as NetSuite.Procore experience preferred but not required.
- Proven ability to provide guidance and mentorship to Buyers, fostering professional development and ensuring adherence to best practices.
