Role Description

  1. This Senior Engineering Associate position is a full-time role based in Lagos, Nigeria, with a hybrid work structure that allows partial remote work. The selected candidate will be responsible for
  2. Supervising junior Engineers
  3. Primary role to lead the Company’s power consulting and power investment plans along side the MD/CEO


Key areas of work include

  1. Power System Consulting/Investments – Serving as a Senior Power System Engineer in the team that will carry out the following assignments: identification and evaluation of community sites for renewable energy (RE) projects.
  2. Development of generation architecture of community RE projects
  3. Development of power evacuations and distribution system networks for RE projects
  4. Energy Systems Policy, Simulation and Optimization Modeling Studies including energy Audits, engineering design of energy eroduction and end-ese facilities:
  5. Climate Change Consulting – interest in development of capacity in climate change consulting covering climate mitigation


Qualifications

  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Analytical skills for data analysis, problem-solving, and providing evidence-based recommendations
  • Ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment and manage teams and tasks under limited supervision
  • Skill set in HOMER Pro Simulation Software, AutoCAD (Electrical) and ETAP (or other relevant tools) will be required. 
  • Development of power evacuations and distribution system networks for RE projects.
  • Exceptional communication skills for effectively presenting ideas, reporting results, and engaging with diverse stakeholders
  • Proficiency in research methods and techniques to address complex environmental, economic, and sustainable development challenges
  • Experience in project management, including planning, execution, and collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Expertise in elecrical engineering, with a focus on energy and environmental projects
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field
  • Knowledge of climate change policies and clean energy solutions is a strong advantage
