About the Job

The Sr Field Service Engineer will travel to various job sites to commission systems, complete maintenance work, troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment, warranty service, and ensure energy storage systems are working to their full capacity. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in Industrial Maintenance. Energy storage experience is beneficial but not required.

This is a remote position, with travel to job sites in the surrounding area. Candidates must be located in the NY, MA, CT, or RI region. Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00am to 5:00pm or 9:00am to 6:00pm Local Time. Regular evening or early morning (outside normal working hours) may be required, for example to coordinate with our global headquarters based in China, or with customers in another timezone. Visa sponsorship is not available.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Work independently and as a team to provide maximum customer experience and technical support to Energy Storage customers.
  • Document site visits and product analysis to enable continuous improvement of troubleshooting procedures, product installations, and product robustness.
  • Lead the execution of system commissioning.
  • Conduct field activities under the Long-Term Service Agreement LTSA of each site. This includes preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, firmware upgrades, mechanical upgrades and engineering modification.
  • Actively engage in field dispatches as needed by key customers.
  • Enter and maintain cases assigned until completion.
  • Participate partner product training programs and be certified to service them.
  • Actively engage in technical discussions with inverter and EMS partners to troubleshoot.
  • Partner with other teams to ensure delivery of exceptional customer service, as needed.
  • Investigate, respond to and generate reports on field incidents involving Trina batteries.
  • Conduct basic and advanced log analysis on batteries and inverters.

Your Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ work experience in field service role or equivalent.
  • Experience as a technician or engineer is required.
  • Must have prior solar/energy industry experience or similar.
  • Proven track record of completing tasks with minimum supervision.
  • College or technical degree desired but not required.
  • Strong customer service skills, able to communicate and present professionally and effectively.
  • 50% - 75% local region travel (with occasional to other regions).
