VP - Capital Formation
Company Description Transition VC is India’s first venture capital fund dedicated to the Energy Transition, with a mission to address the climate crisis and advance India’s Net Zero goals. The fund focuses on early-stage startups in New Energy, E-Mobility, Green Hydrogen, Energy Storage, and Net Zero Energy Buildings. It also backs climate-tech solutions that enable decarbonization across industries. Transition VC works closely with startups, corporates, and industry partners to build scalable, impactful solutions in the climate and energy ecosystem.
Role Description The VP – Capital Formation will lead fundraising and investor relations initiatives for Transition VC in a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru. This position will be responsible for identifying and engaging potential limited partners (LPs), developing fundraising strategies, preparing fund marketing materials, and managing the end-to-end capital raise process. The VP will cultivate relationships with family offices, institutional investors, corporates, and high-net-worth individuals, while maintaining regular communication, reporting, and updates for existing and prospective investors. The role includes collaborating with the investment team to align fundraising narratives with the fund’s thesis, representing the firm at industry events and conferences, and building strategic partnerships that expand the investor base. The VP will also monitor capital markets trends, support compliance with regulatory and investor requirements, and contribute to long-term capital formation planning for future funds.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in direct fundraising, capital formation, or investor relations within venture capital, private equity, or related financial services.
- Strong network and relationship-building skills with family offices, institutional investors, corporates, and high-net-worth individuals.
- Expertise in financial analysis, fund economics, and investment structuring, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to meet Investors & maintain relationships.
- Strategic thinking and project management capabilities to drive end-to-end fundraising processes and meet capital raise targets.
- Relevant academic background in finance, business, economics, or a related field; an advanced degree (MBA, CFA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all stakeholder interactions.
