Role Description The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day finance and accounting operations for Transition VC and its investment entities. This full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru includes overseeing general ledger entries, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities. The role involves preparing and reviewing financial statements, fund-level reports, management reports, and supporting investor reporting packages. The Senior Accountant will handle statutory compliance, including GST, TDS, income tax, and other regulatory filings relevant to a venture capital fund. The position also includes coordinating with external auditors, fund administrators, tax advisors, and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate records, strong internal controls, and timely reporting. The individual will contribute to budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and process improvements to support the fund’s growth.
Qualifications
- Strong core accounting skills, including general ledger management, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- 5-8yrs Experience as a Accountant in Financial Services or similar firms.
- Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and management reporting.
- Knowledge of Indian taxation and regulatory compliance (e.g., GST, TDS, income tax, ROC, SEBI/AIF regulations preferred).
- Proficiency with accounting and financial tools (such as Tally, QuickBooks, or similar ERP/accounting software) and strong Excel skills.
- Experience in fund accounting, financial services, venture capital, private equity, or asset management is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with internal teams, auditors, advisors, and other stakeholders.
- Professional qualifications such equivalent, or a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Ability to work on-site in Bengaluru, manage multiple priorities, and maintain high ethical and professional standards.
