Where Is The Work

Trane Technologies is hiring an Airside product, Witness Test and Product Development Engineer. In this multi-functional role, you will be responsible for coordinating and executing customer witness tests as well as leading and participating in design projects for Trane Commercial HVAC Airside products. This is a customer-facing Engineering role, in which you work closely with cross-functional teams to support witness testing and product manufacturing and engineering teams to design and validate state-of-the-art, airside data center products. You must have technical and interpersonal expertise to coordinate customer witness and product validation testing, lead and/or support product design projects, interpret and communicate technical agency standards and test data, drive to root cause for quality and reliability issues, and conduct projects in accordance with standard engineering practices.

What You Will Do

  • Work closely with product management, operations, and laboratory teams and act as customer facing interface to support and execute Fan Coil Wall (TCDC) and Computer Room Air Handler (VCDC) product witness tests.
  • Design, develop, and support airside data center products including key component selection, performance calculations, and documentation.
  • Manage value engineering and design for manufacturing projects, ensuring delivery of results on time and within budget, while preparing schedules and reports to achieve project milestones.
  • Facilitate design reviews, conduct testing validation, use virtual tools for performance prediction, validate design variations, and support risk assessments and quality events to ensure performance standards and customer specifications are met.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance product performance and reduce costs, with occasional domestic travel required (less than 10%).

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or similar discipline) and at least 3-years of engineering work experience is required.
  • Experience working in a testing or customer-facing environment is a plus.
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering or MBA is a plus.

  • Excellent technical, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to understand and adapt to customer needs and challenges
  • Confidence in preparing and delivering impactful solutions and presentations, demos, and proposals that influence customer decisions
  • Ability to make progress by producing deliverables and completing projects in a multi-tasking environment (several concurrent assignments)
  • Ability to work with and collaboratively lead cross functional teams
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint) and Oracle

Compensation

Annual Salary Range: $82,300 – $123,200
