Trane Technologies is currently seeking a Product Lifecycle Engineer – CI Project Leader who is a key member of the product development team which works closely with other Engineering teams, such as the Test Lab, Manufacturing and Product Management to create competitive designs for Trane Commercial HVAC equipment. The selected individual must have the technical expertise to support and lead product design projects, product validation testing, drive to root cause for quality & reliability issues, interpret technical agency standards and conduct projects in accordance with standard engineering and stage gate PDP practices.

On-Site (5 days). Travel between production plants will be required as needed (within 5mile radius). Both domestic and international travel may be required. Estimated travel is <15%.
This role has been designated by the Company as Safety Sensitive. Physical demands include extensive walking, bending, twisting, and climbing in and around production units.

Base Salary: $70,000 - $90,000

What You Will Do
- Evaluate the cost effectiveness, reliability and safety of certain mechanical or electrical designs. Evaluate continuous improvements in design and manufacture.
- Drive design actions to meet the needs of internal and external customers; through documenting, understanding and prioritizing requirements.
- Support preparing detailed drawings for production HVAC machinery and mechanical devices; including dimensions, fastening methods, and other engineering information.
- Coordinate with and consult with Mfg. engineering, operations, and production teams to design, lay out, or detail components/systems to resolve design or other problems.
- Apply technical expertise to solve design problems or to gauge appropriateness of product to various applications.
- Lead project teams to meet performance, reliability, cost, and schedule objectives.
- Facilitate design reviews and test plan reviews to ensure a robust and reliable design.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, and (1-3 years experience) in mfg engineering or product design experience are required.
- Previous project lead experience is required
- Experience in Creo and Solidworks preferred
- Understanding of HVAC system functions including refrigeration, heat transfer, airflow and ventilation.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, project management and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to quickly and efficiently understand and organize information necessary to make engineering decisions.
- Ability to make progress by completing tasks and deliverables in a multi-tasking environment (several concurrent assignments) on time.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills – ability to communicate up, down, and across the organization.
- Windchill software or equivalent PLM (Product lifecycle management software) experience.
- Knowledge working with relevant computer applications, such as CADD (Computer Aided Design and Drafting)..
