Where Is The Work

Monday to Thursday, work onsite with your colleagues. Fridays, choose your work location, balancing what your work requires.

What Will You Do

In this role, you will:

  • Understand project requirements and collaborate with project owners, leaders, and global cross‑functional teams to deliver projects while adhering to standard processes, systems, and project management principles
  • Ensure project milestones and deliverables meet required Quality (Q), Delivery (D), Project Cost (C), and Product Cost (C) targets
  • Lead end‑to‑end product development activities including concept generation, design & development, planning, prototyping, testing, pilot builds, design reviews, DVT, product validation, pre‑production, and launch
  • Solve complex technical problems using structured engineering problem‑solving tools
  • Work independently with minimal supervision from Team Lead/Manager
  • Drive VAVE projects from scoping to closure; lead should‑costing, teardown analysis, and idea‑generation workshops
  • Support Advanced Engineering through inputs to FEA/CFD modeling and interpretation of CAE reports
  • Understand, capture, and translate product requirements while collaborating with global SMEs to ensure alignment with the Trane Technologies Product Development Process
  • Develop concepts; design, select, and develop components with suppliers; create component specifications for structural (metal and non‑metal) components and assemblies; lead DFMEA and test plan creation
  • Create and release engineering documentation using PLM/PDM tools such as ProE and Windchill (drawings, BOMs, specifications)
  • Coordinate cross‑functional teams to implement design changes

What You Will Bring

  • BE degree in Mechanical Engineering or a Master’s in Thermal Engineering (or related specialization)
  • 6–9 years of industry experience (Thermal Engineering background required)
  • Strong competency in refrigeration system design, including low‑temperature applications (‑80°C and ‑150°C)
  • Hands‑on experience with refrigeration components, freezers, ULT freezers, cold rooms, and similar systems
  • Experience in DFMEA, DVP, test plan development, prototyping, and testing
  • Understanding of component design and manufacturing processes (plastics, sheet metal, casting, machining)
  • Exposure to AI and data analytics for VAVE and product design
  • Experience driving VAVE initiatives independently
  • Strong problem‑solving capability with demonstrated root‑cause analysis
  • Proficiency in ProE modules – Part, Sheet Metal, Assembly (Top‑down/Bottom‑up), and Drawings
  • Basic knowledge of materials science and electrical systems
  • Demonstrates innovation, initiative, teamwork, and excellent communication skills
  • Project management experience on less‑complex projects from initiation to closure
  • VAVE certification (SAVE/INVEST) preferred
