Job Title: Project Controls Coordinator / Field Cost Analyst

Job Description

We are seeking a Project Controls Coordinator / Field Cost Analyst to support capital construction and infrastructure projects within a fast-paced utility and energy environment. This role will support the Project Controls and Project Management teams by providing cost analysis, schedule tracking, forecasting, earned value reporting, and construction progress support throughout the project lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting project controls activities within utility, energy, EPC, construction, or industrial environments, with strong analytical skills and hands-on experience working with Excel and Primavera P6 schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support daily project controls and field cost analysis activities for active construction projects
  • Track incurred project costs, analyze variances, and maintain accurate forecasting data
  • Maintain and update project cost information within EcoSys or similar cost management systems
  • Validate schedule progress, percent complete, and actual/forecast start and finish dates with contractors and project teams
  • Support project forecasting activities including Estimate at Completion (EAC) and cost trending analysis
  • Assist with earned value management (EVM) reporting and construction performance tracking
  • Support project change management processes and maintain related documentation
  • Prepare and distribute weekly construction and project controls reports
  • Coordinate with project managers, contractors, schedulers, and project controls teams to ensure accurate cost and schedule reporting
  • Assist with schedule analysis, project progress tracking, and reporting activities using Primavera P6
  • Ensure project documentation, forecasting, and reporting activities are completed accurately and on time

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • 2–5 years of experience supporting project controls, cost analysis, scheduling, or construction/project coordination activities
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite skills
  • Familiarity with Primavera P6 scheduling software
  • Understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM) concepts and forecasting methodologies
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities within cross-functional project environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting utility, energy, EPC, pipeline, industrial, or construction projects
  • Experience with EcoSys or other project cost management tools
  • Knowledge of project forecasting, cost tracking, and schedule management processes
  • Experience working in field construction or capital project environments
