Your Team And Your Responsibilities
Team/division description
In order for Toyota to contribute to the Global Society, Technical Strategy Planning Carbon Neutral (TSP CN) division is responsible for setting R&D direction to achieve TME carbon neutral ambition for 2040. TSP CN collects carbon neutral (CN) items from the supply chain, calculate vehicles‘ life cycle assessment (LCA) and measure impact of the implementation of CN items in the vehicle supply chain to support R&D strategic decisions.
Your project
Your role is to actively support the team in their LCA and project activities.
You Will
Duration: 6 months
Confidentiality
Due to business requirement, not all performed projects can be reflected in the internship report. This issue needs to be discussed with candidate/school in advance.
It is mandatory that applicants are students for the entire period of the internship.
We can only accept students with an EEA or Swiss citizenship (not requiring a work permit or visa to be eligible to perform an internship in Belgium

You Will
- Support the team with vehicles LCA (life cycle assessment) calculation
- Collect, summarise and report benchmarking activities on CN technologies
- Collect, summarise and report benchmarking activities on CN targets
- Support project activities in which CN ideas are collected and evaluated.
- LCA : Life Cycle Assessment
- CN : Carbon-Neutral
- You are fluent in English (TME’s business language)
- You have a genuine interest in climate change and carbon neutrality, a particular interest in decarbonisation of the supply chain (eg material) is an advantage
- You have a bachelor in engineering or technical sciences which enables you to quickly understand the manufacturing processes and what plays the main role in CO2 footprint from mining, through refining and part manufacturing.
- You can use excel effectively
- You are methodical and organised. You are reliable in tracking tasks, feedback, and follow-ups.
- You have an analytical mindset enabling you to summarise diverging data.
- You are comfortable working in iterative, evolving project environments.
- You are collaborate and enjoys teamwork
- Curious and proactive: Willing to explore CN technologies and supply chain impacts
- Clear communicator: Able to present data findings in a simple, structured way
- Experience with Sphera for Expert software is an advantage
- Experience with PowerBI is an advantage
- Materials (steel, plastics)

- ISO 14040 / ISO 14044 basics
- Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) methodology
- GHG Protocol knowledge
- Sphera for LCA / GaBi / similar LCA software (advantage)
- PowerBI for presenting and analysing results (advantage)
