Energy & Sustainability Specialist - Building Performance

ROLE OVERVIEW

At Touchstone IQ, we help building owners and governments navigate the fast-growing world of energy benchmarking and building performance regulation — and the people who make that work happen are our Energy & Sustainability Specialists. This is a role where you'll become a true energy benchmarking specialist: owning end-to-end energy benchmarking and report submission, helping clients understand and navigate building performance standards, and supporting other related compliance requirements. It's a healthy mix of heads-down independent work and close collaboration with a highly knowledgeable, supportive team.

THIS ROLE IS FOR YOU IF...

  • You're hyper detail-oriented — you catch the discrepancy in a dataset, you notice the deadline that's three weeks out, and you close the loop without being asked
  • You can hold a lot of complexity at once — managing many accounts and clients across different regulatory timelines doesn't rattle you; it energizes you
  • You're curious about sustainability and energy — you don't need to be an engineer, but you want to understand why building performance regulations exist, and you're comfortable getting into the technical weeds: energy use intensity, greenhouse gas emissions, building systems, and what the data is actually telling you about a building's performance
  • You communicate with clarity and confidence, whether you're writing a client email, jumping on a call to troubleshoot an issue, or presenting a portfolio summary to a building owner
  • You're a natural problem-solver who can read between the lines of what a client is asking and get to the right answer quickly
  • You thrive in a fast-moving, growing company where the playbook is still being written — and you're excited to help write it

Familiarity with ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager is a plus — either way, you’ll become a power user of both ESPM and Touchstone IQ for Buildings as core tools of the role.
