Energy & Sustainability Specialist
Role Overview
The Energy & Sustainability (E&S) Specialist I is an entry-level, client-facing role that supports customers using Touchstone IQ solutions. Depending on business needs, this role may support government-run energy and sustainability programs, building owners and portfolio managers, or a combination of both.
E&S I Specialists play a critical role in customer success by helping customers navigate energy benchmarking and building performance standards, compliance, and reporting workflows. This role is well-suited for someone early in their career who is interested in energy and sustainability, enjoys detail-oriented work, and is comfortable providing structured, empathetic customer support in a fast-paced environment.
We are currently recruiting E&S Specialists for both the Touchstone IQ for Governments and Touchstone IQ for Buildings products and teams. Additional team and role-specific responsibilities will be shared during the interview process.
Location: Denver, CO (hybrid position - 3 days in-office; 2 days from home)
Minimum Requirements
- 2+ years of professional customer service or client-facing experience, OR
- A combination of relevant education and professional experience equivalent to 2 years
Additional required qualifications:
- Education or coursework in energy, sustainability, environmental science, engineering, public policy, or a related field OR relevant professional experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with exceptional attention to detail
- Comfortable supporting customers by phone, email, and virtual communication tools
- Willingness and ability to commute to the Denver office on a hybrid schedule
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager
- Exposure to energy benchmarking, building performance standards, or energy policy
- Experience working with government programs, building owners, property managers, or utilities
- Familiarity with CRM systems, reporting tools, or data management platforms
Key Responsibilities
- Provide phone, email, and virtual support to customers using Touchstone IQ platforms
- Support energy and water benchmarking in ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager and/or Touchstone IQ
- Collect, validate, and manage building and program data with a high degree of accuracy
- Track customer correspondence, submissions, and follow-ups
- Perform quality control reviews and resolve data or reporting discrepancies
- Support onboarding for new customers, programs, or portfolios
- Assist with regulatory or program reporting and compliance submissions
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of customer-facing resources (guides, FAQs, templates)
- Collaborate with internal teams including Sales, Product, Engineering, and Program Management

Compensation
Base salary starting at $55,000 - $58,000, dependent on experience. Additional benefits include healthcare and dental insurance, parental leave, a Denver RTD EcoPass, a hybrid work schedule, paid holidays, vacation and sick days as well as a matching 401K package.
