Power Originator
Contexte et environnement
Renewable electricity is at the heart of the 21st-century energy transition. To help meet growing global energy demand responsibly, TotalEnergies is making significant investments in solar and wind generation, as well as battery energy storage solutions, with the ambition of becoming one of the world's top five renewable energy producers by 2030.
The United States power market is a strategic priority for TotalEnergies and its Gas, Renewables & Power (GRP) business segment, leveraging the Company's well-established natural gas and commodities platform. Given the diversity and complexity of U.S. electricity markets, success requires deep market expertise, strong risk and position management capabilities, and a thorough understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements.
TotalEnergies Gas & Power North America (TGPNA) serves as the Company's U.S. trading affiliate within the GRP organization. TGPNA is responsible for a broad range of commercial activities, including marketing and trading, transportation, storage, exports, and other services that support TotalEnergies' U.S. energy portfolio. This portfolio primarily encompasses natural gas, natural gas liquids (NGLs), power, and environmental products, all of which play a critical role in advancing the Company's integrated multi-energy strategy.
Operating in a dynamic and highly competitive environment, the U.S. Trading Origination Team plays a central role in developing and executing TotalEnergies' commercial strategy across U.S. energy markets. The team is instrumental in identifying growth opportunities, creating value across the energy portfolio, and supporting the Company's ambition to become a leading multi-energy provider focused on the energies of the future.

The Power Originator will play a key role in advancing TotalEnergies' U.S. Power Trading and Origination strategy by identifying, structuring, negotiating, and executing short- and long-term power transactions across North American energy markets. The role focuses on the purchase and sale of electricity, capacity, renewable energy products, and related services, with a particular emphasis on developing customized solutions for both internal and external customers.
In addition, the Power Originator will support the procurement and negotiation of agreements for flexible generation and load management assets, including battery energy storage systems (BESS), combined-cycle gas turbines (CCGTs), and demand response resources, to help optimize and balance portfolio exposures.
Success in this role requires a deep understanding of TotalEnergies' broader U.S. energy strategy and the ability to translate that strategy into commercially viable opportunities. The Power Originator will collaborate with independent power producers (IPPs), renewable energy developers, energy funds, load-serving entities, generation developers, and large industrial and commercial customers to identify and execute transactions that support the Company's growth objectives.
The position involves direct interaction with both internal and external stakeholders and requires strong commercial, analytical, and relationship management capabilities. The Power Originator will coordinate closely with trading, risk, credit, legal, finance, and management teams to ensure transactions are successfully executed and integrated into the Company's portfolio.
