Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Construction Project Manager - Sustainability & Resiliency within the PANYNJ TB&T Line Department. The role is based in New York, NY, with a combination of on-site responsibilities and opportunities for remote work. The Construction Project Manager will oversee sustainability and resiliency-related initiatives within construction projects, coordinate project activities, manage budgets, and ensure that project goals are met on time and within scope. This role also involves collaborating with contractors, engineers, government stakeholders, and other team members to optimize processes and deliver high-quality results.
Qualifications
- Experience in Construction Project Management, Construction Management, and Project Management
- Proficiency in Project Coordination and Budgeting
- Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to sustainability and resiliency practices
- Ability to work effectively in both on-site and remote settings
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred
- Familiarity with industry regulations and safety standards
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Previous experience managing projects in New York City or similar urban environments is a plus

THE MISSION
Lead, manage, and deliver projects that reduce environmental impact, reinforce critical assets, and prepare our transportation systems for the climate realities ahead. You will coordinate planning, engineering, procurement, construction, and reporting across interdisciplinary teams and external partners — ensuring measurable progress toward Net Zero goals.
WHAT YOU WILL DRIVE
Project Leadership
Manage sustainability and resiliency projects from concept through completion.
Coordinate daily with internal divisions, consultants, and external stakeholders.
Advance initiatives related to climate readiness, sustainable construction, energy efficiency, electrification, and infrastructure protection.
Net Zero Performance & Reporting
Build and maintain systems to track greenhouse gas reductions, utility performance, energy use, and waste diversion.
Produce analyses that guide long-term planning, investment, and operational strategy.
Support the Sustainability & Resiliency Strategies Team
Align projects to agency-wide priorities and industry best practices.
Contribute to steering committees, cross-functional workgroups, and long-range planning efforts.
Serve as a proactive partner across TB&T’s Asset Management Division.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, Architecture, Planning, or related field.
At least 5 years in project management within infrastructure, transportation, sustainability, or resiliency.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office; ability to learn agency systems.
PMP, LEED, or related credentials are a plus.
Valid driver’s license.
ASSIGNMENT DETAILS
Location: 4 World Trade Center, NYC (hybrid: 1 remote day per week)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Clearance: SWAC ID required upon onboarding
