THE ROLE AND YOUR IMPACT AT TIER


  • Serve as the central interface between all stakeholders and the business to ensure aligned hardware strategy, roadmap & execution.
  • Facilitate gathering of stakeholder requirements for company critical hardware topics.
  • Collect and analyze Topic requirements (why and what) and create Product Requirement Definitions (PRD)
  • Overlay actual performance with industry standards and emerging industry trends, innovation opportunities and competitive threats.
  • Consolidate discussions with stakeholders into a holistic and prioritized requirements overview, informed by the constraints of topic (e.g. feasibility, cost, timeline).
  • Enable the effective delivery of the hardware plans by scaling the product discovery/development and communications in collaboration with the required stakeholders
  • Enable the transparency and clarity of internal stakeholder requirements
  • Jointly decide on build vs. buy vs. partner, together with the Product realization teams
  • Acquire key information (e.g. feasibility, cost, timeline) leveraging the expertise and network of the hardware teams.
  • Synthesize information into clear vehicle documentation to be used by stakeholders.
  • Communicate consistently with business stakeholders: on plan, off plan, risks etc.
  • Measure hardware performance & report on it
  • Define what the expected performance of a hardware line is and ensure that the required stakeholders are aware and understand their responsibility in ensuring this performance level consistently.
  • Understand and monitor business performance of all hardware products (e.g. Active Rate, TCO (Capex & Opex, this includes costs for battery swapping, repairs & spare parts), Error Rate), with support of the Financial BP for Product
  • Own the reporting and communication of Hardware portfolio performance as well as the responsibility to communicate effectively to key stakeholders within the company.
  • Be involved in and facilitate all relevant hardware discussions and meetings.
  • Align hardware product roadmap with senior management.
  • Communicate plans internally to provide transparency for the entire company (e.g. in All-Hands meeting).

YOU'LL FIT GREAT WITH THESE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS


  • 3+ years of Product Management experience, preferably in hardware and/or mobility
  • Experienced in customer-facing product development with proven research, prioritization, and execution skills as well as deep understanding of business impact for solutions
  • Great communicator who is able to drive prioritization consensus across teams and feels comfotable with reporting to c-level leadership
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to identify and prioritize key issues and opportunities

The Hardware Product team at Tier is responsible for the optimal performance of the TIER group Hardware portfolio by managing the connection and information flow between product, engineering, data, supply chain, vehicle development and core internal stakeholders to ensure efficient and scalable product development and performance.

The Product Manager has a defined area of responsibility within the hardware portfolio.The Product Manager Hardware leads the portfolio view and performance reporting of the products in their defined area of responsibility as well as defining future scope for existing products and new vehicle development scope. The role requires strong product strategy, commercial understanding, program management, verbal and written communication and high cross-functional stakeholder engagement. This role works closely with the Direct reports of CPO and CTO to define and communicate solutions.
