HVAC Mechanical Engineer
Job Description
The Senior HVAC Mechanical Engineer will work within the development team, providing product expertise and deep mechanical knowledge that will drive first-of-its-kind HVAC thermal designs that lower acquisition costs, lower lifetime cost of ownership, provide innovative feature sets, and lower energy consumption.
What you will do:
- Lead the mechanical design and development of the HVAC unit
- Conduct the design and laboratory testing to include performance, sound, shipping and reliability
- Follow product schedules and work continuously to meet schedule milestones
- Have a deep understanding of the ASHRAE, AHRI, and UL Standards
- Work with internal and external resources and companies to bring products to production and implementation.
- Work with advanced simulation teams to develop and interpret the CFD and FEA analysis
- Collaborate with other individuals in a cross-functional and diverse environment
- Prepare technical proposal and reports to review and record
What you should have:
- In-depth understanding of refrigeration systems and components.
- Demonstrated experience developing HVAC unit design, including but not limited to sheet metal, copper tubes, cables, and composite materials
- Good working knowledge of electrical systems related to power and control.
- Experience developing appropriate documentation.
- Experience in a new product development environment.
- Demonstrated experience developing advanced control algorithms
Job Qualifications:
Minimum bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and 4+ years of relevant experience
Effective problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong knowledge of Fluid Dynamics and Thermodynamics
Familiar with the R&D environment
Familiar with HVAC industry specifications, standards, and codes
