Yorkshire Wildlife Trust is one of the UK’s fastest growing nature conservation organisations and seeks to appoint a bright and energetic Seasonal Rivers Assistant - River Derwent.
The post holder will join our East Yorkshire Team to help deliver YDCP's Invasive Non Native Species (INNS) Catchment Strategy, which is focused on the eradication of giant hogweed throughout the Derwent Catchment Area by 2030. This role will primarily focus on the treatment of INNS with pesticides and liaising with landowners to further the treatment of INNS. The physical nature of this role requires a good level of fitness and excellent time management skills. Diplomacy, positivity and proactivity are essential for engaging and maintaining relationships with local landowners. As part of the role, the post holder will have the opportunity to learn about the wider work the Partnership is undertaking, gain valuable experience working as part of a team delivering river restoration projects, natural flood management work and attain a good level of understanding of the catchment-based approach (CaBA).
