Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire Wildlife Trusts, in partnership, are recruiting for these exciting roles to help deliver our new Trees Call for Action Fund, Severn Treescapes: Wye to Wyre, connecting nature and people project. Successful applicants will help us to create a 60 mile corridor of enhanced tree cover to connect two of England’s largest semi-natural woodlands from the Lower Wye Valley to the Wyre Forest.
We are looking for three Trees and Woodland Advisors, one based in each Wildlife Trust across the counties of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire, to deliver advisory visits and support to farmers and land managers who are interested in benefitting from grant support for trees and woodland, including hedgerows, wood pasture, traditional orchard and agroforestry grant funding.
The roles will be divided between the three Trusts with one based at Gloucestershire WT's Robinswood Hill in Gloucester, one at Herefordshire WT's Queenswood Country Park, Leominster, and one at Worcestershire WT's Lower Smite Farm, Worcester. Due to the nature of the role some occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
We’re looking for people with a strong understanding of woodland and trees outside woodland and the grants schemes available to support these. Post-holders will be able to communicate confidently to engage and motivate farmers and landowners to get involved in this ground-breaking and unique project, working closely with the project team and with existing teams across the organisations. This is a unique role where you really do have the opportunity to add value and make a positive difference to the natural world.
Life insurance, generous pension scheme, hybrid working, farm/country park office locations with free parking, tea, coffee and kitchen facilities, time off in lieu (TOIL) for overtime worked.
If you are interested in joining us, please download a full job description and application form below or for other roles from Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust or Herefordshire Wildlife Trust. You may apply for more than one post but please complete the separate relevant form for each.
