This role is to co-ordinate our fisheries liaison work to foster marine nature recovery principles, through the development of close links with key fishermen and marine businesses within the St Austell Bay and Fal estuary. This will be achieved through direct one to one engagement with local fishers and marine businesses to encourage sustainable practices and support for fisheries management improvement where necessary. The fisheries and marine business advisor role will continue work already started within the area to build trust and to close the gap between conservationists, fishers, scientists and policy makers.

Are you an experienced marine biologist or fisheries scientist with great communication skills looking for an exciting new challenge that will help work towards more sustainable local fisheries in Cornwall? Cornwall Wildlife Trust are recruiting a Fisheries Liaison and Marine Business Advisor to work with fishers on the South coast of Cornwall. This is a 30 hour per week, fixed term contract until 31 March 2023, with the possibility of extension, depending on funding.
