Salary: £27,500
Contract type: Fixed term / Working hours: Part time
Location:
Cornwall Wildlife Trust HQ, Five Acres, Allet, Truro, Cornwall , TR4 9DJ
We are looking for an organised, conscientious, and friendly individual to focus on developing and supporting a baseline monitoring plan for habitats, species and land condition for the Penwith Landscape Recovery Project

Want to be part of Cornwall’s wilder future?

There is a new SSSI in the far west of Cornwall across the moors and downs of Penwith. It’s a special and ancient place; rich in wildlife and ancient sites, yet still a living, working landscape. However, the SSSI is in unfavourable condition and teeters on the edge of species loss. The heathlands need to see widespread cattle grazing return. The fens need plentiful clean water flowing in through the farmland if they are to become resilient and thrive once again. This project will enable the many small family farms to rise to this challenge, for the benefit of everyone.

You will work alongside project staff to develop biological monitoring schemes to increase coverage for existing datasets and complement the projects aims for Penwith.

The role will also include building up an understanding of historical change across the Penwith landscape by working with the ERCCIS Manager, Nature Reserves staff and other partnership project staff to collate existing information to be used to support the Penwith Landscape Recovery project.

This role is fixed term, working 30 hours per week. For more information, please download the attached job description.

Benefits:

  • Cornwall Wildlife Trust operates excellent TOIL and flexible working policies.
  • Enhanced company holiday entitlement – starting at 25 days plus bank holidays and rising to a maximum 30 days over a period of time (1 day extra for each year worked after 4 complete years served)
  • All employees have access to the Employee Assistance Programme (24/7 counselling service) and Employee health and wellbeing portal
  • Free onsite parking at Five Acres and King Edward Mine sites
  • Cycle to Work (salary sacrifice) Scheme
  • Stakeholder pension scheme
