Operations Manager

Salary: £38,700 - £40,363 per annum FTE (£30,960 - £32,290 pro rata)

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 35 hours per week (a minimum of 28 hours will be considered) worked to a rota, weekends and bank holidays required

Based: Nature Discovery Centre, Thatcham, Newbury

As Operations Manager you will lead in the delivery of an exceptional visitor experience at our busy visitor centre in West Berkshire.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Creating and delivering the Centre’s Business Plan
  • Leading and developing a high-performing team of staff and volunteers
  • Building partnerships with stakeholders
  • Identifying and implementing income generating opportunities that align with BBOWTs mission and values
  • Delivering a cost-effective programme of visitor engagement activities

What we’re looking for:

  • Visitor services skills, incorporating commercial retail, and or, catering
  • Proven success in income generation and business planning
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, to a range of audiences
  • In-depth staff or volunteer management skills
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
  • Ability and willingness to demonstrate the BBOWT behaviours and values
