Yorkshire Wildlife Trust is one of the UK’s fastest growing nature conservation organisations and seeks to appoint an Evidence and Data Assistant (Peat).


The role will involve assisting the Evidence & Data Officer and GIS & Remote Sensing Officer in monitoring, data management and remote sensing tasks for the Yorkshire Peat Partnership.


The role will involve working independently and alongside other staff to utilise Yorkshire Peat Partnership’s innovative BogBase data management system to support restoration and monitoring activities, assisting with day-to-day processing, providing GIS support to Peat Programme staff, maintaining equipment, and supporting training of staff in data, mapping and GIS protocols.


The ideal candidate will have experience in database management, practical experience of programming and experience of at least one GIS software package. They’ll be enthusiastic about nature conservation, willing to do occasional outdoor surveying or monitoring on the moors of North Yorkshire, enjoy working with and contributing to a passionate and driven team.
