Every Sunday, a member of our Natural Childhood team carries out work parties across our nature reserves. The role of these work parties is to help the conservation staff to manage our reserves and carry out land management plans, as well as giving young people (aged 14-30) experience of working outdoors, as part of a team. We are looking for sessional staff with experience working outdoors, who want to develop their skills leading volunteers. We are keen to give young people the opportunity to gain conservation skills, to safeguard our nature reserves for the future. These work parties also give volunteers the opportunity to be outside and socialise with others of a similar age and interests.
We are looking for someone who is dedicated to protecting the natural world and keen to develop their skills in conservation. Ideally you will already have experience working with various hand tools, but you will be fully supported by another member of staff until you are fully confident giving safety talks and supervising volunteers. You will be passionate about wildlife and able to enthuse and motivate volunteers.
To apply, please answer the question below on no more than one side of A4, and email your response to Beth, at firstname.lastname@example.org
What are some of the main ways that you see work parties benefitting young people from different walks of life, and what current skills would you bring to this role?
