We’re looking for an Assistant Reserves Officer? to?carry out reserve management works in a safe and efficient manner. Ensuring that volunteers on SWT reserves work effectively and follow SWT policies especially regarding health and safety.
A large part of the job will involve managing volunteer groups and you will need to work with them in a pleasant and efficient manner ensuring work is done effectively to a good standard whilst ensuring that the volunteers enjoy the experience. You will work closely with the reserves team to quickly become familiar with the nature reserves including their risk assessments and management aims and work with the practical reserves officer who will act in a mentoring role to assist with the above and help you quickly acquire the skills required to manage tasks alone.
As the main user of practical tools and equipment you will be expected to maintain and organise the equipment so that it is kept in a serviceable and safe condition, and stored in a logical and efficient manner.
We’re looking for those that are / have:
A personable manner and the ability to work with a wide range of people
Experience in practical estate work skills
Experience of working with volunteers
Knowledge of health and safety particularly relating to groups
Ability to undertake risk assessments
First Aid certificate
Holds a full UK driving license
