We are seeking an enthusiastic, flexible and motivated person to co-ordinate safety, health and environment (SHE) work across the Trust

The Lancashire Wildlife Trust is a leading environmental charity in the region that stands up for wildlife, creates wildlife havens and seeks to raise environmental awareness in our diverse urban and rural communities.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, flexible and motivated person to be the organisation’s lead officer for safety, health and environment (SHE) work across the whole Trust, keeping policy and practice up to date.

The SHE advisor will develop and support our positive culture of good practice by providing training, support and advice to staff and volunteers across our Nature Reserves and wide range of projects, as well as being the lead on coordinating our 2030 Carbon neutrality ambition. They will work closely with our established SHE committee, which has enthusiastic representation from Trustees and staff members within all of the Trust’s departments, supporting each other in achieving joint goals.

An enthusiasm for and knowledge of nature conservation would be an advantage, however not essential and training and support will be given.

This is a challenging role, which needs committed energy, initiative and drive. A determined yet friendly, professional and resourceful approach will be required and the ability to deal with a wide range of people and situations.

Three years experience of delivering SHE programmes and advice throughout an organisation together with a NEBOSH qualification or similar is essential.

In return, we offer a friendly and flexible working environment, and the chance to be a part of the largest nature conservation body in the area, working together to make a positive difference for people and wildlife in the North West.
