In the decade to 2030 we are committed to scaling up our activities across the three counties to bring nature back to Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire. Our aim is for 30% of our three counties to be connected and well looked after for nature by 2030, so that our species and habitats can recover and thrive – and for 1 in 4 people to be actively helping to achieve this.

Every member of staff has a direct role to play in our mission to bring nature back. The Wilder Communities Officer is a new role focussing on delivering a community organising approach, inspiring and empowering economically and nature deprived communities throughout Northamptonshire to take action for nature and climate.

We are looking for someone who is highly personable, committed and well organised. You will be equally comfortable building relationships with communities as well as supporting staff to develop and expand their community engagement. You will also support the Communities & Wildlife team at our Northants visitor centres as and when required.

Regular weekend (max. two weekends per month) and occasional evening working may be required, for which time off in lieu can be taken.

  • Closing date: Monday 10 October 2022 at 9am
  • Location: Nene Wetlands and throughout Northamptonshire, with opportunities for homeworking
  • Interview date: 19th October 2022
