This role will be based at our office in Middleton although all event activity will be at locations and sites across the county. The role will involve regular travel within Derbyshire. Weekend and bank holiday working and occasional evening working will be necessary.

Your role will be to recruit new members in a friendly and informative way, using the highest standards of ethical fundraising.
You’ll join our enthusiastic team and help Derbyshire Wildlife Trust to fund it’s work for the recovery of nature, to protect and enhance the wildlife and wild places of Derbyshire.
In this role, you’ll engage with visitors to our nature reserves, pre-booked retail locations and events, to talk about the vital work of Derbyshire Wildlife Trust and encourage people to become long term supporters.
To be successful you will use your resilience, positive attitude and enthusiasm to achieve (or exceed) realistic targets.
Responsibilities
In this role, your responsibilities will be:
To recruit new members for Derbyshire Wildlife Trust, using "soft sell" techniques at nature reserves, events and venues to reach daily and annual targets
Explain Gift Aid and encourage prospective members to sign up to the Gift Aid scheme (if paying a sufficient amount of UK tax)
Transport, set-up, maintain and care for all equipment and recruitment aids, e.g. gazebo
Complete all relevant paperwork and reports in an accurate and timely manner in line with management requirements
Represent the Wildlife Trusts in a professional and informed manner at all times
Follow and implement the Fundraising Regulator guidelines
Raise awareness of the work of Derbyshire Wildlife Trust and be an ambassador for the Charity
About you
This role might be right for you if you:
Have experience in customer facing sales, fundraising or promotions (desirable but not essential)
Are people-focused with an enthusiastic, engaging personality & good listening skills
You have an optimistic outlook, enjoys the sales challenge and working to realistic targets
Have an interest in wildlife and love being outdoors
Have a full valid UK driving license and own transport
You can work most weekends and school holidays
Are confident, self-motivated and resilient
You are 18+ (with no upper age limit for applicants)
