The Wildlife Trusts are working to facilitate nature’s recovery across the nature reserves we care for and within the communities we work alongside, and we know that if nature is to be restored at scale, we need many more people on nature’s side.
The Nextdoor Nature Officer will raise public awareness of the value of the natural environment and encourage people and communities to take action for nature in their local area.
They will reach out and listen to the broad spectrum of individuals and groups within these communities, connecting, motivating and supporting them to take action to bring nature to the heart of their community.
Could you support people will take care of places that matter to them, in ways that are right for them? Could you help restore nature across our towns and cities, making them better places to live?
We would particularly welcome applications from local residents in any of the identified geographical areas. We will be working within dedicated postcodes in South Tyneside, Sunderland Central and East, Coastal East Durham and Darlington.
