Warburg Nature Reserve Warden (Maternity Cover)

We have an exciting opportunity for you as maternity cover for the Warburg Warden, managing one of the flagship nature reserves for Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust. This is an outstanding opportunity for a motivated candidate to be part of the Oxfordshire Reserves Team at Warburg Nature Reserve, located in the hills of the stunning Chilterns AONB.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Managing the 107 hectares of woodland and chalk grassland at Warburg nature reserve, following set workplans and managing contractors
  • Organising, supporting and leading volunteers including managing practical conservation workdays
  • Delivering an excellent visitor experience
  • Maintaining the welfare of the Warburg livestock.

What we’re looking for:

  • Significant experience of applied nature conservation management (paid or voluntary)
  • In-depth knowledge of ecological principles and habitat management, and assessment for a range of habitat types
  • broad knowledge of British wildlife and conservation issues
  • Able to communicate appropriately and effectively with a variety of audiences.

Salary: £24,800 - £25,500 per annum.

Contract: Maternity cover Fixed term, 35 hours per week.

Based: Warburg Nature Reserve, hybrid working available.
