DWT Council (Board of Trustees) sets strategy for the charity and ensures it is run properly and effectively. The trustee role is a voluntary one; it requires preparation for and attendance at Council and some committee meetings, and continuing effort to keep in touch with DWT’s work and support its staff and membership.
We need trustees who can contribute to strategic management and organisational development. The uppermost requirement is a commitment to the purposes of the charity. We are particularly keen to further strengthen trustee expertise in finance, ecological restoration and rewilding, and agricultural land management.
We believe that serving as a Trustee at DWT is a rewarding experience. You may be seeking an opportunity to contribute to a cause you are passionate about or looking for a new challenge. Alternatively, you may be interested in becoming a Trustee to boost your career – trusteeships are an opportunity to get involved in every aspect of running an organisation.
We are committed to recognising and truly valuing individual differences and identities. We value diversity and are committed to creating a fully inclusive culture throughout our organisation, welcoming applications from any part of Dorset society.
An application pack is available from the Company Secretary – email: SPatterson@dorsetwildlifetrust.org.uk; telephone: 01305 264620. The deadline for applications is 15th August 2022. If shortlisted, you will be invited to meet the Chair and Vice-Chairs of the Trustees on the 23rd August 2022. The successful candidates will be co-opted to Council from September, pending their formal appointment as trustees at the AGM in December.
