This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate wildlife advocate to restore and enhance freshwater habitats and species.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate wildlife advocate who wants the opportunity to restore and enhance freshwater habitats and species at a landscape scale. You will be working within an expanding team of conservationists at Essex Wildlife Trust but collaborating with many external partners to deliver our 30 by 30 vision (30% of land for nature by 2030).

We are involved with species reintroductions, natural flood management and the hugely ambitious Essex Fish Migration Roadmap; removing barriers for eel, brown trout and other species so they can once again move freely from source to sea.

This is an incredibly varied and satisfying career opportunity. The successful applicant will be required to manage projects in conjunction with the Rivers Team and possess excellent verbal and written skills. The position will require writing articles for local and national media and on occasion representing Essex Wildlife Trust on TV and Radio interviews. If you are a communicator who can not only inspire our network of Citizen Scientists but challenge convention to deliver practical, innovative projects that really make a difference for biodiversity at scale, then we would love to hear from you.

The role is permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week) position based at our Abbotts Hall headquarters in Great Wigborough with travel to sites across Essex. The starting salary is £24,070.00 per annum. Essex Wildlife Trust is trialing hybrid-working arrangements. Further details of the hybrid-working arrangements will be shared at interview. For more information and a full job description, please visit our website essexwt.org.uk for a 'Role Information Pack'.

Essex Wildlife Trust are the county’s leading conservation charity, committed to protecting wildlife and inspiring a lifelong love of nature; and we would love you to join our committed and enthusiastic team. Our values are Inspiring, Collaborative, United and Professional.

To make an application, please complete an application form via our website by 9:00am on Monday 05 December 2022. The interviews are arranged for week commencing 12 December 2022.
