Do you have a passion for working with people and communities, inspiring them with the natural world? Are you experienced in community engagement? Do you want to be part of driving a movement and empowering people to take action for wildlife? We have just the role for you!

Nature is in trouble. We have reached a tipping point. Wildlife is in freefall both locally and nationally and our climate is in crisis. By 2030 we must see nature recovering, wildlife returning and ecosystems restored and we need many, many more people on nature’s side. We urgently need one in four people to take action to bring wildlife back across our region.

The Rewilding Stockport Officer will join the Wilder Engagement Team, responsible for developing and delivering engagement activities in line with the Rewilding Stockport project plan and objectives.

Working to connect and involve local residents in practical action you will support communities to take the lead in designing and implementing the wilding of local spaces as well as improving the value of their neighbourhoods and gardens for swifts, hedgehogs and pollinators.

Our wilder communities work seeks to connect people to nature, inspiring them to care and take action to bring wildlife back. We are working to empower and mobilise individuals and communities via self-sustaining networks and a community organising approach.

Applications close at midnight on Sunday 16th April 2023. We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications for the role. Therefore, if you are interested, please submit your application as early as possible.

At Cheshire Wildlife Trust we embrace agile working with a focus on supporting you to achieve your objectives alongside a healthy work-life balance. We operate a hybrid working policy with most staff working at least part of the week from home and/or out on site.

To apply for this role, send your cover letter (no more than 1 side of A4 in PDF format) and CV to jobs@cheshirewt.org.uk
