The role of the Centre Manager is to ensure the strategic vision, financial stability and sound management of the Local Environmental Record Centre (LERC). The successful candidate will provide day to day management and help maintain the business of the centre.

The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Environmental Records Centre (CPERC) is currently expanding, and the restructure has led to this post vacancy, with the current Centre Manager moving to a more specialised Data Manager role. The larger centre will have increased capacity to manage the demands of a modern organisation.

You will be responsible for overseeing the development of policies, work plans and contracts and management of finances. You will have direct line management of three members of staff. The role will also involve promotion of the centre’s services and activities, and fund-raising to support its work. It will also be essential to liaise with biological recorders, other data providers, other record centres and partner organisations.

We are seeking someone with a keen interest in, and commitment to wildlife and environmental issues and an understanding of biological recording and the functions of a Local Environmental Record Centre. The successful candidate would also have experience of project management, fundraising, budgeting, databases, and staff management.

Hours: 30 hrs per week. Part time. We would consider 22.5 hrs per week.

Type of Contract: Permanent

Location: Can work remotely some of the time but will need to attend training and meetings at other Trust offices, as well as regular attendance at a base location in Cambourne, Cambs.
