Lecturer or Teaching Assistant Professor in Nuclear Engineering, Fall 2025 Location: Knoxville, TN Open Date: Nov 14, 2024 The Department of Nuclear Engineering at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK) is seeking applications to fill a non‐tenure track Lecturer or Teaching Assistant Professor starting on or around August 1, 2025. Exceptionally qualified individuals with very significant teaching experience may be considered at higher ranks. Responsibilities Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in nuclear engineering‐related subjects. Provide service to the department, college, university, and community. Qualifications Doctorate in Nuclear Engineering or a closely related field (for Teaching Assistant Professor) or a master's in Nuclear Engineering or a closely related field (for Lecturer) by the effective date of appointment. Experience contributing to existing courses in nuclear engineering and ability to develop new teaching materials. Focus on nuclear fission engineering; experience with foundational nuclear engineering and/or nuclear power topics. Experience with or interest in the new Nuclear Power Engineering minor within the Department of Nuclear Engineering. Demonstrated teaching success complementary to University of Tennessee strengths and a vision to develop collaborative teaching activities.
