A leading international law firm is seeking an Associate (or experienced Senior Associate) to join its Energy & Infrastructure Transactions group.

The position offers the opportunity to work on some of the most sophisticated renewable energy and infrastructure projects in the U.S., supporting major developers, utilities, and institutional investors.

This is a high impact role for an attorney who thrives at the intersection of commercial dealmaking and energy transition. The successful candidate will work directly with partners who are market leaders in complex project development, M&A, and financing transactions across the renewables sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Build-Transfer Agreements (BTAs), and related offtake and project development contracts.
  • Advise on EPC, O&M, and interconnection agreements for utility-scale solar, wind, and battery storage projects.
  • Support clients on project acquisitions, joint ventures, and tax equity structures.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on regulatory, real estate, and financing aspects of projects.
  • Provide practical, solutions-driven advice across all stages of the project lifecycle, from development through to sale or operation.

Candidate Profile:

  • 7–10 years of experience in renewable energy or energy infrastructure transactions, either in private practice or in house at a developer or utility.
  • Strong working knowledge of PPAs, BTAs, EPCs, and other project contracts.
  • JD from a top-tier law school and admission to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Excellent commercial judgment, drafting skills, and ability to manage complex negotiations.
  • Preference for candidates based in Houston as this role will require regular in office collaboration.
