Hybrid role combining O&M oversight and engaging new Customers through lead generation and BD.
Identifies and secures new contracts for the ongoing operations and maintenance (O&M) of solar energy projects, focusing on expanding a company's customer base. This role requires a blend of technical understanding of solar assets (PV systems, inverters) and business acumen, including market research, strategic planning, and contract management. Responsibilities often include acting as an owner's representative, managing client relationships, and developing strategies to grow revenue and improve market presence, especially in the utility-scale and commercial/industrial sectors.
Solar O&M / Business Development Manager (NC)
- Focus: Expand commercial solar operations.
- Details: We’re seeking a proven leader who understands the solar industry end-to-end — someone capable of driving new business, managing GCs and projects, and developing a commercial solar team quickly. This is a growth-focused role with significant opportunity for advancement. Based in Gastonia, NC, with travel as needed.
- Business Growth: Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and market penetration for solar energy projects.
- Sales & Client Management: Build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients, including corporations, government agencies, and real estate developers.
- Opportunity Identification: Identify new business opportunities and secure funding, permits, and partnerships for solar projects.
- Proposal Development: Collaborate with engineering and finance teams to design, price, and present customized solar solutions, financial summaries, and proposals to clients.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analyze trends to identify new opportunities and stay ahead of the competition.
- Negotiation: Negotiate contracts with property owners and other counterparts, working with internal legal teams to execute agreements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with sales, marketing, engineering, finance, and operations teams to ensure project success from initial contact through to project completion.
